Terms of Service Agreement

Before we get started, please make sure that you know what to expect. As professionals My Focus only work within respect and compliance between the parent, learner and tutor.

Payment and Scheduling

Payment Confirmation: All payments and lesson scheduling are to be confirmed directly with parents or guardians, not with learners. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that their child, especially those self-sufficient in managing their schedule, receives all relevant meeting details.
Payment Terms: Tutor services must be booked and paid in advance for at least four sessions. Payment must be made in full before the start of the first scheduled session. If full payment is not received prior to the first session, the sessions will be canceled or rescheduled until payment is received.
Session Scheduling: Sessions can be scheduled and arranged flexibly based on mutual agreement between the tutor and parent/guardian. Scheduling confirmation must be provided through email or agreed communication channels.
Invoicing: Invoices are due before the first lesson. If arranged for permanent tutoring, Invoices will be sent out on the 23rd of each month for the upcoming month and are payable by the 1st of the following month. Any non-payment by the 1st of the month without communication will lead to the suspension of services until payment is settled.

Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellation Policy: Parents/guardians must provide at least 24-hour notice for rescheduling sessions. If notice is not provided within this timeframe, the session will be forfeited, and no refund will be issued.
Missed Lessons: Missed lessons without prior notice or communication will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Rescheduling Process: To reschedule a lesson, please ensure that you confirm any changes through the approved communication channels to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings.
Non-Refundable Policy: Payments made for tutoring sessions are non-refundable unless agreed upon in advance under exceptional circumstances. Rescheduling or session changes must be communicated with at least 24-hour notice, or the session fee will be forfeited.

Tutor Services and Responsibilities

Tutor Flexibility: Tutors at My Focus operate with a degree of flexibility regarding scheduling and lesson structure. However, all schedules and fees must be agreed upon before lessons begin.
Fee Structure: Tutors are responsible for setting their own fee structure, and all payments for tutoring services must go through My Focus to ensure clear financial management.
Advertising and Bookings: My Focus handles all advertising, tutor confirmations, and time scheduling for both tutors and parents/guardians.

Tutor-Parent Communication

Communication Channels: All official communications regarding payments, scheduling, and lesson content should occur through the approved communication channels, which include email and phone. The primary communication should always be between the tutor and the parent/guardian.
Parent Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to communicate lesson times and updates to learners, particularly those who manage their own schedule. My Focus is not responsible for learners missing sessions due to lack of communication from parents/guardians.

Liability and Responsibilities

Parental Responsibility: While My Focus provides educational support and tutoring, the responsibility for a learner’s education ultimately lies with the parent or guardian. My Focus does not assume any responsibility for the success or outcome of the learner’s educational achievements.
Service Suspension: My Focus reserves the right to suspend services if respect and compliance is not received from the client. We also reserve the right to suspend services if payments are not made in full or if any other breach of terms and conditions occurs. The parent/guardian will still be responsible for any fees due for previously scheduled sessions.
